Membership in the Order of the Daedalians shall consist of
the following categories: (1) Founder Members,
(2) Named Members, (3) Hereditary Members, and (4)
Honorary Members.
Founder Members are those persons who, prior to 12 November
1918 as a commissioned officer in any component of
the United States Armed Forces, held a rating as a
military pilot of heavier-than-air powered aircraft.
A Founder Member may transmit his membership to
Hereditary Members and/or two Named Members. Should
a living Founder Member fail to transmit his
membership as provided, the National Staff, with the
written permission of the Founder Member, may accept
into membership Hereditary and/or Named Members to
fill the vacancies in that Founder's Membership.
When a Founder Member dies without transmitting his
membership as provided, the National Staff shall be
authorized to accept into membership Hereditary
and/or Named Members to fill the vacancies in that
Founder's Membership.
Named Members are military pilots of heavier-than-air
powered aircraft in any component of the United
States Armed Forces who is or has been a
commissioned or warrant/flight officer or a WASP and
who is accepted as a member to perpetuate the
membership of a Founder Member. Only two Named
Members are authorized for any one Founder Member.
Hereditary Members are descendants, real or adopted, of any
Founder Member. There is no limit to Hereditary
Members authorized for any one Founder Membership.
Honorary Members are distinguished persons who are
not other wise eligible for membership in the Order.
The National Board of Directors screens
recommendations and selects the nominee to be
submitted to the vote of the active membership. At
least three quarters of the votes cast must be in
favor of the nominee's designation as an Honorary
Member. The number of Honorary Members shall not
exceed fifteen at any one time. |

Membership is limited to descendants of Ancient Planters,
defined as "those
persons who arrived in Virginia before 1616,
remained for a period of three years, paid their
passage, and survived the massacre of 1624.
They received the first patents of land in the New
World as authorized by Sir Thomas Dale in 1618 for
their personal adventure.
Persons unknown to members of the Society may submit the
name of their ancestor with a letter of endorsement.
An invitation may then be issued. An invitation is
valid for one year from the date it is issued.
Persons under the age of twenty-one may become
Junior Members upon the approval of application
papers and payment of application fee. |

of Descendants of Colonial Cavaliers |

Eligibility for membership is limited to
ladies and gentlemen who are lineal descendants of Britons who,
during the period of the Civil Wars in England,
Scotland, Wales and Ireland from the Interregnum
until the Restoration of the Monarchy, resided in
the New World remaining loyal to their Brittanic
Majesties King Charles I and his son and successor,
King Charles II. The ancestor must have held claim
to not less than 1,000 acres of land during his
lifetime. There is a rebuttable presumption that
persons then living in New England were not
"Cavaliers." There is a rebuttable presumption that
persons then living in Virginia were "Cavaliers" as
were persons then living in Barbados and the other
British sugar islands of the Caribbean. |

an ancestor who aided in the establishment of
the first permanent English Colony, Virginia 1607-1624.
This aid may also have been rendered by members
in the Virginia Company of London if followed
by subsequent residence in the Colony of Virginia
by such member of his descendants for one or more
generations.
The Order of the First Families of Virginia does not enter into correspondence with
those inquiring in their own behalf, nor is membership
information furnished. Proposals for membership
made by members by request of candidates are not acceptable,
and requests for membership are considered
inappropriate. |

of the United States Armed Forces, male or female,
who served in France during World War I, or in
France or French possessions during World War II. It

includes participating in an invasion or flight
within the coastal areas of France or French
possessions.
American enlisted men who served in France or in
French possessions during World War I or World War
II, and who were commissioned later are also
eligible for membership in the Order of Lafayette,
as well as commissioned officers and
non-commissioned officers of the French Foreign
Legion.
Membership in the Order is also open to all
recipients, regardless of rank, of the Congressional
medal of Honor or the French Medaille Militaire who
served in France or French possessions during World
War I or World War II, and are admitted as members
without having to pay dues to the Order.
All lineal descendants, male or female, of original
members, or those who would have qualified as
original members, are eligible for full membership
in the Order on reaching the age of twenty-one

from the Founders of North America, including
the Caribbean and offshore North Atlantic
Islands during the period of 1492 to 1692.
Members may descend from Spanish, English,
French, Dutch, Scottish, Swedish, German,
Danish, and Italian royalty, explorers,
settlers, and seamen transporting and supplying
these colonists.
Any boy or girl, under the age of 18 years, is
eligible for junior membership in this Order,
provided they have a Founder ancestor meeting
the qualifications in Section 1. If they are a
junior member in good standing upon attaining
their 18th birthday, they shall automatically
qualify to become regular members upon the
payment of the current matriculation fee. If
they are not a junior member in good standing at
the time of their 18th birthday, they petition
for regular membership without having to
resubmit their genealogical proof.

Original Companions are commissioned officers of
the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, and of
State and Territorial Military Organizations,
who subsequent to the year 1900, engaged in
military service, in conflicts, battles, or
actual field service against hostile Indians
within the jurisdiction of the United States, or
whose service was within the zone of any
recognized Indian campaign.
Traditionally, eligibility for membership would
require an applicant to be a direct descendant
of a commissioned United States Army Officer,
who saw combat action during any of the American
Indian Campaigns from 1776-1900.
However, in order to further perpetuate the
Order, OIWUS may still consider granting
membership if the applicant's ancestor saw
combat against Indians while serving in a
military unit or militia of either the British
Colonial Crown (1600-1776) or The United States
of America (1776-1900), regardless of
rank.

Norman invasion of England known as the Norman
Conquest, the primary individuals being William
I (the Conqueror), Duke of Normandy, King of
England and those Companions who supported
William I, by lineal descent, bringing into one
society the descendants of the aforementioned
individuals.
The Order also collects and secures for
preservation the following items:
historical/genealogical research, documents,
lineages and other significant data related to
the events leading to and following the Norman
Conquest, which changed history in 11th
century Medieval England and Normandy.

descended from Edward III, are generally included in
the Plantagenet Line.

Membership of the Royal Society of St. George is open to
anyone who is committed to the well-being of
England and Englishness and it is contained within
five categories to suit the interests of the Royal
Charter of the Society and the requirements of the
individual member.
A Branch Member is one who joins the local Branch of the
Society. Branch Constitutions and rules are the
responsibility of the Council of the Society
wherein, operationally, each Branch is Autonomous.
Branch Members affect the
Society by means of Annual Subscription and the
election of a Regional Councillor to represent
groupings of Branches on the Council of the Society.
Branch members vote and elect Branch Officers at
Branch Meetings.
A Direct Member is one who does not belong to a
Branch but joins the National Register in
direct support of the Society and shall be of those
wherever born being Englishmen or Englishwomen or
their children or remoter issue.
Full Membership is where one is both a member of a
Geographical Branch and a Direct Member of the
Society. Direct Members and Full Members vote and
elect candidates to the Council at Society General
Meetings. Direct Members and Full Members may offer
themselves for vacancies on the Council as they
occur in line with the Bye Laws.
Associate Membership is open to individuals who are not
eligible for Ordinary Membership but express
themselves in support of the Objectives of the
Society. Associate Membership is available to the
Branches and to the Society direct.
Honorary Membership is extended to holders of the Victoria
Cross, the George Cross, the George Medal and
persons who have given distinguished service to the
Society or their country.
Ordinarily membership shall be of those, wherever born,
being Englishmen or Englishwomen or their children
or remoter issue. Candidates for Membership or
Associateship of the Society shall be proposed at
the discretion of the Membership Secretary.
Council has the duty to rule on admissions.
Branch Membership is at the discretion of the Council. |

Membership is by invitation only and requires a
proposer and a seconder. Additionally, a candidate
for membership must submit genealogical
document-ation and prove one of the following:
a.)
Full (Voting) Membership: Proven descent from an
unbroken hereditary lineage THROUGH THE MALE LINE to
a family that was documented as a member of the
hereditary Russian nobility by the Russian Imperial
Senate prior to the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917.
b.)
Associate (non-Voting) Membership: Proven descent
from a direct hereditary lineage THROUGH MARRIAGE OR
THROUGH THE FEMALE LINE to a family that was
documented as a member of the hereditary Russian
nobility by the Russian Imperial Senate prior to the
Bolshevik Revolution of 1917.
c.)
Colleague (non-voting) Membership: Open to anyone
who is interested in and supportive of the Russian
Nobility Association in America and its activities.
Membership is by invitation only.
